The Psychology of Self-Transformation

We all tend to grow, transform, and live life as fully as we can. It is an internal drive to experience deeper fulfillment. Even being happy, we wish to maximize the impact of any transformation supporting activities. We humans don’t like constant change in our life. On the other hand, most of us are not happy with the way of our life. This is where self-transformation comes in.

psychology of self-transformation

We want to get things done easy and fast, but life is not a hard and fast rule, we got to work hard and have the patience to understand our surroundings. We just can’t change our lifestyle or the way we think or how we like to have things coming on our way in a day. To improve our life, to take it at its best we need to train morally and psychologically, we need to change or improve ourselves to get the maximum or utmost outcome from oneself. But how do you do so?

Understanding psychology of self-transformation is no easy job, some of us may be already thinking ‘hey what does it even mean’ right? Well, you are in the right place, we can give you some idea about how you can start this self-transformation thing. You just need to follow a few of these simple tricks.

Know Thyself

If you want to work with something new, for example with a machine, you need to know the manual first. Maybe you want to personalize your laptop’s theme, to do that you need to know how it is done first. The same stuff goes down in case of human nature, mind, or says psychology.

If you want to improve your lifestyle or even you want to change how you think, you need to know how your brain works first, once you have the manual of your mind it is easy to direct the required customization. So how can we know thyself? For starter, you can start by asking the question, ‘why you do what you do?’, why you say what you say?’. Once you have figured that out, you’ll know which words you need to stop using the next time you talk with your boss and when to talk about that increment you have longed for.

The world is continually changing and improving. To keep up, you have to grow with it. The name of the game is to keep up not to catch up. There you go, now you know the first and foremost step of self-transformation. Know the manually upgrade the system.

Realization of mindset

The human brain is a very complex machine. It collects, stores, and processes data and decides at the same time. It never stops working. We learn to think and gather data from a very early age; we are continually learning new things.

Every new idea or tips or tricks is a new tool to our brain, which it will use the next time it works on regarding the subject. Our mind is like a baby it never stops learning, so we need to keep feeding it with new ideas and knowledge.

To transform ourselves first we learned about ourselves, and we got the manual or had a basic understanding of who we are, what we are lacking, and what we need to learn to keep up with the world. Now that you know the way of the world and what you are lacking, you can feed yourself with new knowledge and ideas to improve.

So you need to keep practicing the new ideas or whatever you’ve found in your characteristic that need improving. As the wise man once said: “Sow a thought, and you reap an action; sow an act, and you reap a habit; sow a habit, and you reap a character; sow a character, and you reap a destiny.”  So keep up practicing and keep up the excellent work, you’ll reach there eventually.

Overcoming the fear

Overcoming the fear

One thing we are taught with quite a perfection is to fear and not to take the risk while they should have taught us how to overcome fear. As a kid, we were taught not to run around because we may fall and hurt ourselves, while they should have taught us it’s alright to fall because you can get up and start running again.

The seed of fear was planted among us long ago now it has turned into a big tree of concern. To overcome it, we need to cut down the tree and plant a new seed of ‘I’m fearless and can conquer anything that I desire.’ We need to learn that it’s alright to fall, no great success ever comes without falling first. We drop hundreds of times before we finally learn how to walk.

We fear a change in our life; most of us will never agree to leave the comfort zone and take the risk of getting to a new level of living. This is one grave matter about the psychology of self-transformation. Maybe we badly want to change and improve ourselves, but the fear of failure and acceptance is pulling us behind. But we’ll never know if we don’t try. We must try to achieve our desired goal, and we can’t let the fear win.

Abraham Maslow stated in his book “If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life.” So even to live your remaining few days happily and to think about the good life you’ve lived while having a nice cup of tea sitting on a rocking chair at your grandson’s lawn, you need to improve, risk it all and transform yourself for the betterment.

Not with That Attitude

Most of us dream to live a life as a billionaire, some of us even spend a significant amount of time in a day thinking how would it feel like to live their life, what would I do if I had all those money, houses, and cars. So, what’s stopping you?

We all love dreaming, but the moment when it comes to acting accordingly, we think of the work and hassle we need to go through to get a life, first thought that comes in our mind is ‘this is impossible, we cannot do it’. Well, let me tell you my friend ‘not with that attitude’, you certainly cannot if you have that mindset.

You must challenge yourself put yourself in a position where you can ask yourself ‘why can’t I’? If you’ve dreamed of that life, that means you have the potential at least to get an experience close to that. What is holding you back? Must be the fear and that attitude that it’s not possible by me. If you don’t try, how will you ever know?

“Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not”. This is one major transformation, to improve your life you must change your attitude toward those challenges and let nothing hold you back, you just achieve what is yours.

Most people chose to take the easy road. Instead of changing, they try to dull their feelings. They take drugs to distract themselves for a mild pleasure. But this is no easy game. To transform for the betterment, one must work hard, find what they lack, work on it, consistently gain knowledge, overcome all the fear, and of course have to have the strong mentality of ‘I can’.

If someone can then that has to be me. Self-actualizing does not mean the transcendence of all human problems. Conflict, anxiety, frustration, sadness, hurt, and guilt can all be found in healthy human beings. Failure will be there, and that’s another step toward success, you can’t just stop trying because you fear that you’ll fail. This is one most crucial step of The Psychology of Self-transformation; you have to change your attitude.
